Yikes! Trikes! This is my second successful one using a mini Cyclone motor, but they take a LOT of custom time and effort (because it’s a Cyclone AND a trike). Two wheels are far simpler, but this Taga 2.0 trike ended up performing fairly well.
If you don’t know Luna Cycle, get on board! They truly are revolutionizing the ebike industry. Daily.
The BBS02 and BBSHD WILL work on American “Ashtabula” type bottom brackets often found on less expensive choppers and cruisers. It’s just takes an adapter and some minor custom work. This is an adapter from SJS Cycles in the U.K.
Jumbo Shark pack on a rear rack. Not ideal pack placement, but it’ll do if nothing else works. And it’s a mid-drive motor, so it’s not the absolute WORST combination in existence (that would be a rear hub/rear battery setup).
Nice big “Killer Whale” pack from Luna…
Quality ride time with Dad!
Have I mentioned how much I like the Townie as a conversion?
Basic front hub motor kit from Luna Cycle with battery in bag on rear rack. Maintains all functionality of the tandem pedals.
Range “monster”
This older dual suspension is fitted with a 36v 500w BBS02 and 29ah(!) battery on the rear rack. The near puncture-proof Schwalbe Marathon tires will handle pavement and hard packed dirt/gravel roads with aplomb. Time to explore, and leave range anxiety behind!
EASY RIDER
Here, the first of a pair of “his & her’s” Day 6 semi-recumbent bikes. The 13.5ah shark pack just barely fit in this position, but is still able to be slid off it’s cradle if need be. 48v BBS02 provides ample power for pavement cruising and assistance up hills…
The cushy, adjustable seat with backrest is a bit of impressive engineering!
